On Wednesday, dance-pop icon Anabel Englund and house music heavyweight MK joined forces to release the official video for their latest collaborative single “Underwater,” directed by Amber Navarro and produced by Laura Burhenn of Our Secret Handshake. The video is scintillating, scantily clad, raw in emotion, and the song packs a punch with Englund’s alluring and catchy dance-pop vocal melodies. Shot within the environment of a club, Englund embraces the role of the protagonist as she moves throughout the building while changing multiple outfits, choreographed to the beat of the song.

Having racked up over 2.5 million Spotify streams since its release in late September, one thing is clear, Anabel Englund is a force to be reckoned within the dance music scene. The sky is the limit for this talented and up and coming artist. “Underwater” comes to us just weeks before her debut album release on December 11, and the single is a smash hit ready for the club, or anywhere that you are.

deadmau5 And Kiesza Release New Single "Bridged By A Lightwave" Out Now on mau5trap

The track comes as a surprise days ahead of its scheduled release date.

Earlier this year the beloved and well-known goat lord surprised us all with “Pomegranate,” a critically acclaimed, funk-driven, upbeat electronic collaboration with The Neptunes. Now, just days ahead of its scheduled release date, deadmau5 surprises us yet again early releasing his new single “Bridged By A Lightwave” with singer/songwriter Kiesza. The track oozes that familiar, iconic deadmau5 sound, taking us back to his early days of techno and progressive house. His signature analog synth leads still remain at the forefront, which when paired with the high flying vocal harmonies from Kiesza, creates a mysterious and ethereal feeling that lifts you up and takes flight.

If you were one of the lucky fans who attended deadmau5’s cubev3 shows in early 2020 in New York City and Philadelphia, then you were treated to hearing this song before anyone else. The track first hit the airwaves premiering exclusively on the SIRIUSXM BPM channel (channel 51), hosted by Rida Naser, and it serves as the first-ever collaboration between Kiesza and deadmau5. The fellow Canadian has long been a part of the SIRIUSXM BPM family ever since she exploded onto the scene back in 2014 with her hit song “Hideaway.”

In a press release, Kiesza explained how the song has been in the works for just under 5 years, and she thanks deadmau5’s wife Kelly Zimmerman for keeping the flames of inspiration alive while holding both of them accountable for finishing the song. Kiesza writes, “deadmau5 and I used to endlessly run into one another at festivals and always talked about working together one day. I think we talked about it for four years before we actually, finally got down to business. I have Joel’s beautiful wife Kelly to thank for holding us both to our word. She has always been a huge supporter of my music and never let us off the hook for committing to work. Finally, one day he sent me a track to write over. I wasn’t proud of my initial ideas and being a big fan of Joel, I was determined to give him my absolute best work. One night as I was heading to Norway from the UK to mentor young music students, my taxi hit a massive traffic jam and I soon realized I wasn’t going to make my flight. We were at a standstill for almost an hour before we began inching forward toward the airport. But as I was sitting there, peering out of the window, like magic, all of a sudden the entire song appeared. I pulled out my phone as fast as I could to capture the words and they flew in. It was as if someone was threading the song into my mind from another dimension. By the time I finally arrived at the airport, my flight had long departed, but “Bridged By A Lightwave” had landed in this ‘3D place.’”

The full version of the song comes in at a glistening 9 minutes and twenty-three seconds, and deadmau5 has also included an Alternative Mix, as well as a 2 minute and fifty-two-second Radio Edit in the release. “Bridged By A Lightwave” is available now on all digital streaming platforms and can be found here.

Hermitude has been releasing dance-floor bangers after dance-floor bangers for some time now, and we’ve come to know they bring the heat with every release, so it comes as no surprise that “Janela (feat. Kimbra)” would be any different, and it’s not. The Australian duo of El Gusto and Luke Dubs that we know and love as Hermitude have yet again delivered another track on fire, a soulful R&B jam infused with jazz and the unique electronic touch that gives Hermitude tracks that one of a kind sound. “Janela (feat. Kimbra)” premiered yesterday October 8 in Flood Magazine and is out worldwide today October 9 via Elefant Traks / Nettwork Records. The single is set to premiere on their recently announced new album Pollyanarchy (Deluxe), which is a reissue of their 2019 album release and is due out November 13.

To get the vibe of the track just right Hermitude knew they needed to collaborate with someone who could deliver the range and vibe they needed, and teaming up with pop/R&B mainstay Kimbra was the perfect fit. Born in New Zealand, singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and model Kimbra brings warm jazz-infused vocals and a vibe that compliments the track.

“‘Janela’ is a tune we had written at our studio in Sydney but could never find right the vocalist. It wasn’t until we went to Brooklyn, New York last year to take part in an APRA writing camnp that ‘Janela’ came into its own, thanks to the prowess of Kimbra,” says Hermitude. “We played her the beat and she instantly gelled with it, humming melodies along with it straight away. It was quite a personal song for her and we could tell by the emotion she was putting into the microphone. We felt like we got something really special that day.”

Pollyanarchy (Deluxe) will feature a multitude of unreleased tracks in collaboration with Drew Love (They), Kameron Alexander, and the recent single “Spotlight” featuring Daniel Bedingfield. When the album released last year, Pollyanarchy climbed straight to the top to sit at the #6 spot on the ARIA charts and it also featured as triple' j’s album of the week with the duo bringing putting forth main stage banger collaborations with Buddy & BJ The Chicago Kid, Vic Mensa, Bibi Bourelly, Electric Fields and Haiku Hands. There is no shortage of hits that Anabel Englund and MK (Marc Kinchen) have created together. After many collaborations and solo projects, Englund will premiere as the debut artist to release an album on MK’s AREA10 Records (via Ultra Music) for their first-ever proper collaboration. In support of her upcoming album, which is titled Messing With Magic, Englund and MK have released their new single “Underwater”, which is out today, September 25.

Having done a host of remixes for a myriad of top artists such as Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and Mary J. Blige, producer/hitmaker MK has created a sonic foundation for Anabel’s vocals float upon in a surreal effect. “I love working with MK because he’s crazy talented & even after his many years of success he is humble & sweet,” shares Englund. “You know you’re gonna have a good time when you get to spend the day with MK!”

Back in 2012 while working on Hot Creations, Anabel Englund and MK had their first taste of collaboration. After this, she was featured live and on record as a key member of Hot Natured with Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. Not long after Englund, MK, and Foss got together to work on a new project, Pleasure State, where they went on to release many singles such as “Ghost In The System” and “Electricity,” which found its way onto the BBC Radio 1 end-of-year Essential Mix play. Following his own path MK continued on to remix her single “So Hot” with Nightlapse, which together they transformed the single into one of her most successful and highest played tracks, growing to a staggering six million streams on Spotify alone. The remix has also gone on to be the #1 single on Dance Radio for eight weeks straight.

Mk has been in the game for over 30 years and has no shortage of works to list on his resume. Some of his best-known work is for the platinum-selling singles “Back & Forth” as well as “17” which sold over one million copies in the U.K alone. Continuing to push the evolution of their latest project Desire to new heights, Bob Moses reached out to European producer Solomun to remix the title track off Desire. “Desire" (Solomun Remix)” is out today, September 24 and the freshly released remix comes in hot with a re-edit of the “Desire” interactive music video.

Solomun takes an already entrancing dark melodic track and expands upon the guts of it, lengthening it to over six minutes while putting emphasis on specific vocal lines and elements. Originally the track was a collaboration between Bob Moses and Grammy-nominated electronic musician Zhu, who together made the track a visual counterpart in the form of an animation in collaboration with creative agency CTRL5 and animation by Airplan Studio. The video was directed by Owen Brown of CTRL5. For this remix, CTRL5 and Airplan Studio have created a new music video that is reminiscent of the original interactive video, sharing many similar elements with a touch of re-editing.

Kruder & Dorfmeister (Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister), are a Viennese duo who started making music together in the early 1990s. Since their early days producing behind dusty Akai samplers, the duo has gone on to produce multiple successful projects including Tosca, Peace Orchestra, and Voom:Voom, as well as official remixes for Depeche Mode. “Johnson” features a trippy downtempo groove with a soundscape infused with delays and celestial synths.

The video for “Johnson” was directed by Oscar Pecher and Stefan Pecher, who stated that when they heard the track for the first time, “…pictures immediately came into our minds. The cinematic, atmospherically dense sound, supported by emotional vocal samples, reduced breakbeats and deep bass lines gave us a lot of visual input.” The brothers also said, “Someplace that has stood still in time, the dark corridors, the mysterious musical mood that fits the current time, combined with a young, sensitive leading actress whose sluggish movements increasingly develop towards dance as the track progresses.”

Making its way onto Hayden James’ Waves Of Gold DJ mix earlier this summer, “Hold Me Up”, the fourth track on the album, reminds us that things will get better, a metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel, and a testament to holding onto one’s hope and faith that the future is bright. Track five “Outlier” punctures through the skin of society’s ego showing the true modern-day obsession society has with the projection of an outward image. Bob Moses started back in 2012 by Vallance and Howie, two years later they signed to Domino Records. In 2015 they put out their debut album Days Gone By that featured their track “Tearing Me Up”, which was nominated for two GRAMMYs, with the RAC remix taking home the trophy for “Best Remix Recording (Non-Classical).” The duo, a perennial festival favorite, has repeatedly been minted by Resident Advisor as Best Live Act (2014, 2015). In 2018, Battle Lines spawned the hit single “Back Down”, which led to a performance on Ellen; the record was named one of Billboard’s “Best Electronic Albums of 2018.” Following Battle Lines, Bob Moses released Battle Lines [Remixed], featuring remixes from the likes of Hayden James, Jamie Jones, and Cassian, as well as Unplugged, an acoustic EP of songs from Battle Lines and other repertoire favorites.

With the world still in quarantine, Bob Moses has been staying connected to fans through a weekly live-streamed DJ set on YouTube, dubbed the “BobCast.”

The track is a collaboration between the on the rise New York City-based DJ/producer Imanos with New Zealand’s up and comer c.wong, and the dance cut they put out is a vibrant dance tune with some late-summer vibes. Both artists have a unique indIvidual style which is showcased in the production of this track, which makes this track a one of a kind and ear-catching record which proves to be more than just another breakup song. About Imanos:
Originally from Vancouver, then juggling school and gigs while residing in New York, Imanos (James Somani), has been around a variety of music scenes. The budding DJ started making music at a young age landing a prestigious remix gig for Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Niki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” with Grammercy and hones his craft holding residences at NYC nightclubs, becoming a tastemaker in the electronic world. He has worked on several tracks as an artist, most notably co-producing and featuring on Diplo’s “Revolution” with Faustix and Kai, and co-writing the title track off of Jessie J’s album Sweet Talker. From his productions, he has gained support from the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Pete Tong, and A-Trak to name a few. His debut single “Gunshy” feat. With recent surreal and unjust events taking place across the world and near to home, Los Angeles-based and eclectic modern techno music label Octopus Recordings respond by teaming up with Parisian apparel brand LA CLEANIC to unite humanity. Seeking to use any humble skills, and connections in music and fashion, to begin a collaboration sending profits to a meaningful cause.

The collection features limited edition black hoodies, t-shirts, and face masks. Each piece is printed in French and says “La Justice étouffée sous le poids de la police” which means in English, “Justice choking under the weight of the police” along with the names of all who have lost their life s a result of police brutality.
