Experimental pop outfit Body Language has released three albums on Om Records — 2010’s Social Studies, 2013’s Grammar, and 2016’s Mythos, carving through remnants of future-shocked R&B, bass and house music with singles like “Free,” “Addicted” and “Can’t Hang On.” For the label’s 25th anniversary celebration, the band returns with a brand-new single today (June 12) with “Let’s Try.”

Brooklyn’s Body Language—who is Matthew Young, Angelica Bess, Grant Wheeler, and Ian Chang— have always embodied something of a sensual mythos. Since their inception in 2008, the band has been known for their restless pop experiments with a future-shocked blend of soul and R&B. The quartet’s debut 2010 LP Social Studies earned the approval of everyone from NPR to The New York Times to The Guardian, who compared the breakout release to early Madonna, the indie disco of Prelude Records and “CSS doing an impression of Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band.”
“Let’s Try” will appear on Om Records - 25 Years out July 10 which celebrates the 25th anniversary of one of America’s longest-running independent music labels. The song is to be featured next to 25 other songs including previously released singles by Mark Farina & Homero Espinosa (“The Story”) and Reptile Room (“Sunlite”) alongside other new tracks, unreleased material and Om classics from the likes of Groove Armada, Kaskade, King Kooba, Ming & FS, People Under the Stairs, and more.
Look for Body Language to release their fourth album Travel Guide on Om later this year.
